Aims & Objectives

The Department exists to equip students with requisite skills to identify problems of society and how to respond to them. It aims at exposing students to the religio-cultural dimensions of human development focusing attention on how norms of behaviour are derived and applied. The Department seeks to develop a systematic approach to religious and moral thinking and aims at introducing the major World Religions and the African Traditional Religions to students so as to foster in them a balance of thought and tolerance in respect of religious pluralism of the world. The Department further aims at critically examining faith and belief in the context of a world characterized with scientific modernity.
